FAQ
Questions we get asked
How much does an EICR cost?+
From £120 + VAT minimum. The final price depends on the number of consumer units and circuits.
Can you give a fixed price without seeing the job?+
Usually not. Most electrical work needs a short site visit so we can estimate accurately. Simple jobs can sometimes be estimated from a clear description or photos.
How long does a consumer unit upgrade take?+
Typically around a day for a standard domestic upgrade — confirmed once we’ve seen the board.
Do I need to be home for the electrician?+
Often preferred. For some jobs — like deciding light positions and heights — we’ll need you available to make those choices.
Are you Part P / building regs compliant?+
Yes. We’re Part P registered via NAPIT. We also carry out EICRs backed by professional indemnity insurance, with certificates issued through third-party software (not NAPIT-logoed).
Do you install solar panels?+
No. We stick to electrical work — installs, testing, upgrades and fault finding — without solar.
How do I get an estimate?+
Call, WhatsApp, or use the contact form. Most estimates need a site visit. You’ll get a clear estimate for the works required — what’s included, no waffle.
Do you offer emergency electrician services?+
Yes — subject to availability, including urgent call-outs at weekends by arrangement.
Which areas do you cover?+
Essex and Suffolk, including Clacton, Frinton, Colchester, Manningtree, Harwich, Brantham and south Ipswich. Jobs outside this area are sometimes possible — get in touch and we’ll let you know.
