Consumer unit upgrades
Outdated fuse boards can potentially be a safety risk. If you think you need an upgrade, we recommend carrying out an EICR to check the condition of the installation first. We supply and install modern consumer units with RCBO protection to current wiring regulations, usually completing a standard upgrade in around a day.

FAQ
Consumer unit upgrades — FAQs
How long does a consumer unit upgrade take?+
A standard domestic upgrade is usually around a day. We’ll confirm once we’ve seen the existing board(s) and what’s involved.
Can you give a price without visiting?+
Not accurately. Fuse board upgrades depend on the existing installation, cable condition and what protection is needed. A short site visit means a proper estimate.
Will the power be off all day?+
There will be downtime while we change the board. We generally try to minimise this by getting everything prepped and using temporary supplies where possible.
Do I get a certificate afterwards?+
Yes. Notifiable consumer unit work is certified and notified through our Part P registration where required — you’ll get the paperwork for that job.
